Buddha: tattoo

This is a nice tattoo. I don't want to copy it exactly.
Hello again. I've been researching images of the Buddha for a tattoo that I want to put right on my sternum and stomach, a nice big one of the Buddha reaching down to the Earth for acknowledgement of his enlightenment. Visually, I like some elements of some images more than others. My question: Can I create a new image of the Buddha? Can I take what I like from different images and piece them together? Yes, it's my body and I can do whatever I want, but my tattoo artist is a Buddhist aswell and a bit more educated than I so I'd like to come to him with as much knowledge and firmly made decisions as possible. Again my question: Can I remake an image of the Buddha and still keep it respectful and traditional? I have taken the time to seperate the images into small groups which I think will help me to understand what it is I like about each. Please feel free to comment.

Buddha: carvings

I like these aswell.

I want the image of Buddha reaching down to the Earth for acknowledgement of his enlightnment, but I also want him to have a slight smile.

Buddha: big

Buddha: shiny statue

This first of these three is my favorite.

Buddha: realistic

This is interesting, a more realistic statue.

Buddha: close

These are very nice statues.

Buddha: smiling fatty

I realize that these are images of a monk and not of Buddha.
I like their smiling faces. I want my Buddha to be smiling.

Buddha: nice drawing

I like the simplicity of this design. The tattoo I want will be
only shades of black ink, maybe some white highlights.
