Lady samurai, by Deseo

Original artwork by Deseo from Kansas City, Missouri.
I've communicated with Deseo and he says he'll send
me a larger version of this little picture. I think this piece would look great left as half a face and blown
up huge on my ribs and chest. I'm excited about this,
but we'll wait and see what happens.
This image was made on my computer, it's not a real tattoo yet.

it looks fantastic but does it have anything behind it like spiritually or do you just think it looks pretty?

Here's my schtick on tattoos: First, they have look cool (or pretty or aesthetically pleasing or whatever). Then it should have at least one solid meaning and also the option for new meanings. Sometimes I like to leave some aspects not unclear but just undefined, so that it leaves options for later. So, yeah whatever meaning and symbolism gets attributed to a tattoo is good and normal, but in the end it's how it looks. First and last, it's how the tattoo looks, and in between pack whatever meaning you like.

I think Deseo's work looks awesome, and I've been trying to find the right piece for a large untattooed part of me. I am traveling to Japan soon, and I may wait to get this there, but either way I've always had a fascination with samurai and women, heh heh, so this is kind of a no brainer. No incredibly deep meaning for this one.
