Predator: Forever Midnight

The Wakazashi is a short sword used in Japan as early as the 16th century. It is approximately 12-23 inches in length and worn blade edge up. The Wakazashi was worn by the Samurai, along with the Katana as part of a matching set called a Daisho. If the Katana was broken, the shorter Wakazashi could be used in its place. It was also considered bad etiquette to wear a long sword indoors, so by the use of a Wakazashi the Samurai would not be vulnerable indoors.

I'm a sucker for all the Predator, Alien, Terminator films and books. Why didn't Arnold ever fight Aliens?
You are one cool samuryan! All your posts on art, tattoos, sci-fi and comic stuff is right up my alley. Ichiban! :-)
I finished reading this book, this morning. It was good. Nice action adventure sci-fi horror, as expected: Almost everyone dies and then the cavalry arrives to pick up the survivors.
I don't think I've read every Predator book, however, I noticed some contradiction to other books. In this, the Predators call themselves Hish and they call us Urth-things or Tall Monkeys. But in another book, they called themselves Yaut-Ja and called us Soft Shells (as opposed to Aliens who were Hard Shells). My memory may be wrong, it's been a long time since I read any other Predator books, but I'm glad I read this one. Simple and fun.
